3000 doorknob hangers appeared in the Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria, VA, an area of bungalows, small town houses, and independantly owned businesses. A crew of art enthusiasts directed by Linda Hesh installed what looks like your typical advertising vehicle promoting a restaurant or dry cleaner, but each piece of white card stock displayed one of four short poetic phrases:
Art is to See.... Art is to Feel.... Art is to Know.... Art is to Do
It's an artwork constructed of many small pieces that add up in size to an area of over 100 blocks.
